Meeting Point: Near Yongsan station (#135)
It is the time of the year when everybody has had enough of long freezing winter and needs to recharge their bodies. Luckily, Seoul boasts one of the best places to do just this: Korean Bathhouse!
Conveniently located in Yongsan, Dragon Hill Spa complex is frequently visited by people who are seeking to unwind, warm up and feel the myriad health benefits of lying around in bubbling hot pools and rustic saunas. This spa has taken centuries of Korean tradition and made it into a veritable labyrinth of endless steam rooms, saunas and salt rooms.
In the sauna lobby we will receive our sauna “outfits” (shorts and shirt), two small towels, and a numbered bracelet that is used to purchase optional services, drinks or food. The tour coordinator will show the group all the areas of the spa, then you can choose where you want to spend your time. The dry areas are for men and women, everyone is wearing a spa outfit. The wet areas are separated for men and women, and there is no clothing in those areas.
The restaurant (in the dry area!) serves ample portions of Korean food which must be charged to your bracelet number. Dry area services include body massage, foot massage, manicure, pedicure. Wet area services include body scrub.
Please bring socks for the salt sauna, and you are welcome to bring a large towel.
