Meeting Point: Near Jonggak station (#131)
Feb 10 Registration has closed on Feb 1st due to a long waiting list.
This popular tour is being offered again so more people can experience the expertise of Mrs. Park and enjoy a relaxing morning of drinking tea and shopping for tea supplies. In our first tea house, Jidaebang, Ms. Park will show us how to prepare lotus tea and explain Korea’s tea tradition and ceremony. Drinking tea, particularly on a cold winter day in a cozy tea house, will fill our bodies with warmth and well-being.
We will begin our shopping trip at O’Sulloc Tea House which specializes in green tea. O’Sulloc offers tea accessories, food and beauty products that contain green tea. Their tea products are from Jeju Island. From there we will take a short stroll to Yeha Ceramics which offers glass and ceramic tea pots and cups, and some unique tea varieties. On our way around Insa-dong we will pass by a few more unique and hidden tea houses which you may visit later to practice your new knowledge about tea drinking.
Our last stop will be at Kyung-in Museum of Fine Art, which has a fabulous traditional teahouse called Dawon in its spacious garden. We can enjoy another tea in the peaceful atmosphere created by the architecture and sculpture garden. We can also enjoy the art on exhibit in their small galleries.
Very close by is Gyesong Mandu (dumpling) restaurant where anyone in the group can join for lunch after the tour.
