Meeting Point: Near Hapjeong station (#238/#622)
SIWA member Monica Williams, Business Editor at Korea JoongAng Daily, will speak on “How to Take a Midcareer Sabbatical and What to Do Next”. After working for two decades as a journalist at publications such as The Wall Street Journal and The Boston Globe, Williams left her job in Manhattan to travel the globe alone. During an 18-month sabbatical, she walked the Camino de Santiago, worked at the Clinton Foundation’s annual meeting and at Obama’s second inauguration, taught English to business executive in Spain, lived in Ecuador and Colombia and picked up a few new skills in Bahrain. She’ll talk about why a midcareer break–or switch– might be good for your career.
